Mzuzu University wishes to inform students who completed their studies in the 2017/18 Academic Year and the general public that the 20th University Congregation will be held as follows:

Dress Rehearsals

Candidates are required to attend dress rehearsals on Thursday, 18th July 2019,
to begin at 9.00am. Only candidates who will have attended rehearsals will be
allowed to process on the day of the Congregation.

20th CONGREGATION GUIDELINES

Outstanding Debts

Candidates still owing the University in outstanding fees or other financial obligations will not be awarded their certificates or receive transcripts, unless and until all outstanding debts are paid. Candidates should clear their debts by depositing the funds in the following account: NBS Bank, Mzuzu University Fee Collection Account, Account No. 14389172, Mzuzu Branch. The deposit slip should be scanned and e-mailed to dfi@mzuni.ac.mw.

Hire Charges for Academic Dress

To take part in the Congregation, candidates will be required to wear an academic dress. The academic dress will be available for hire at a fee of K12,000 for Diploma, K15,000 for Bachelors, K40,000 for Masters and K50,000 for PhD for each candidate. Academic scrolls used for storage of certificates will also be on sale at the price of K3,000 each. All Candidates must immediately return their academic dress at the end of the function. Any unreturned academic dress shall attract a penalty fee of K2,500 per day for the first day of delay and K5,000 for subsequent day of delay payable before the release of the Certificate.


Travel and Upkeep Costs

Candidates will be responsible for their travel, meals and accommodation costs.


Invitation Cards

Each candidate will be issued with one invitation card for someone who may wish to accompany him/her to witness the Graduation Ceremony. This may include a parent, guardian, spouse or sponsor. The cards will be issued at Mzuzu University, Mzuzu starting from Tuesday, 16th July 2019, at 9.00 am.

Photographic Services

The University is calling for expressions of interest from reputable photographic service providers to provide photographic services and to also produce the official DVD for the 20th Congregation. Only those that will be hired and registered will be allowed to take photographs during the event on the terms and conditions that will be agreed with the University.


Graduands wishing to have their photographs taken during the Congregation will be required to register with the appointed photographers during rehearsals.
