Brief Biography

Evance Makolija is a lecturer in the department of hospitality management, in the faculty tourism, hospitality and management at Mzuzu University. He holds a Master of International Business (MIB) in Food & Beverage, and Restaurant Management obtained from Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) in Switzerland, and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management obtained from Mzuzu University, Malawi. Evance has extensive experience in management of hospitality business having worked in the industry at higher positions before joining Mzuzu University as an academician. Currently Evance is the Head of Hospitality Management.

Areas of Specialisation
Evance Makolija specialises in food and beverage management, restaurant management, institution foodservice management, hospitality facilities management and food and beverage control systems.

Areas of Research Interest
Evance’s areas of research interest include sustainable food and beverage management, service quality, and customer service.
