Deborah Ndalama-Mtawali, MA (APL); BA (HUM)
Deborah Ndalama Mtawali is a professional linguist with seven years of experience teaching language and communication, as well as conducting linguistic research. She has been a Lecturer in African Languages and Linguistics in the Department of Language, Cultural and Creative Studies since September 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) Degree (2017) and a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics Degree (2021), both obtained from the University of Malawi (UNIMA). Deborah is a Lecturer of Linguistics, specialising in the description of Chichewa and Chichewa syntax, as well as in Language Rights—the idea that people should be able to access information or services in their preferred language. She is motivated to contribute towards making language more inclusive and accessible.
