Dr. Jamu Nyirenda

Dr. Jamu Nyirenda is a Lecturer in the Department of History and Heritage Studies at Mzuzu University. He teaches courses such as Early African History, Modern African History, Modern World History, International Relations since 1945, History of Malawi, Central Africa since the Iron Age, West Africa, Political Transformation in Africa since 1945, and Southern Africa since 1870. He also teaches on Gender Issues and Health in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. Additionally, he lectures and supervises postgraduate students in the Department of History and Heritage Studies and the Faculty of Education. He holds a PhD in History from the University of Botswana, a Master of Arts in African Social History from the University of Malawi, and a Bachelor of Education (with credit) from the University of Malawi. His research and publication interests include cultural and political history, gender and development history, and the history of identities.
