Shaibu Ali Juma is an academic and researcher with a strong background in Renewable Energy Systems and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy at the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, with a research focus on the development of optimal control strategy models for isolated mini-grids to enhance system performance and sustainability. His academic journey is anchored by a B.Eng. (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of East London (2014) and an MSc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Pan Africa University, Institute of Basic Science, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya (2018). Before joining Mzuzu University, he was working as a Tutorial Fellow at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (Kenya). His special fields of interests include energy, electric power systems, electronics, microgrid operations, optimization and sustainability-focused energy solutions. He has also developed strong competencies in data analytics, electrical systems modeling, and energy management system integration for decentralized energy infrastructures. Throughout his career, Juma has contributed to both research and practice. He has presented papers at international conferences, authored journal articles on energy and power systems optimization, and supported technical assistance programs aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in Climate financing. Notably, he was a DREEM Fellow providing technical assistance to IMED Foundation in Tanzania. His professional journey is marked by a commitment to academic excellence, applied research, and capacity building for a sustainable energy future.
