Agriculture is the backbone of Malawi’s economy, and the Department of Agri-Sciences at Mzuzu University is committed to shaping the next generation of agricultural innovators, rural development experts, and agribusiness leaders. Our diverse faculty specialises in Soil Science, Crop Science, Rural Development, Extension, Agribusiness, and Agricultural Economics, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to modern agricultural challenges.
Through cutting-edge research, industry collaborations, and hands-on training, we address climate resilience, sustainable farming, value chain analysis, and agri-entrepreneurship. Our undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes , including BSc in Value Chain Agriculture, BSc in Transformative Community Development, MSc, and PhD in Transformative Community Development, equip students with the expertise to drive impactful change in agriculture, policy, and rural development.
