Dr. Chimango Nyasulu

Dr. Chimango Perez Nyasulu is a Lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Technology at Mzuzu University, holding a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Gaston Berger of Saint Louis, Senegal, funded by the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (Rsif). His PhD research focused on leveraging machine learning for weather prediction and crop disease classification to enhance agricultural resilience to climate change, with studies on forecasting rainfall, humidity, and temperature, as well as classifying and quantifying the severity of tomato leaf fungal diseases using texture features and transfer learning. Dr. Nyasulu’s work reflects a strong commitment to applying advanced technologies to real-world challenges, particularly in the agricultural sector.
