Senior Lecturer

Dr. Michael Sepula

Dr. Michael is a seasoned hospitality management expert and Senior Lecturer at Mzuzu University with over 20 years of professional and academic experience in teaching, research, and consultancy. He holds a PhD in Hospitality Management from Moi University (Kenya), an MSc in International Hotel Management from the University of Surrey (UK), a Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Institute of Tourism and Hotel School (Austria), and a Bachelor of Education (Science) from the University of Malawi. Currently serving as Postgraduate Coordinator in the Faculty of Tourism, Hospitality, and Management, Dr. Michael has contributed extensively to both public and private sector capacity-building initiatives. Notably, he received the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship–Advanced Scholars (QES-AS) award in 2021, supporting climate change and societal transformation research. He has been actively involved in AfDB-funded tourism development projects in Malawi and has a strong publication record in hotel service quality, customer satisfaction, CSR, and sustainable hospitality.
