Thokozani Bvumbwe is an Associate Professor of Nursing. He is a nursing educator and health systems expert, currently serving as Director of Quality Assurance and Enhancement at Mzuzu University. A registered professional nurse with over two decades of experience in higher education, public health, and quality management, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (2017) and a Master of Science in Community Health Nursing (2003), both from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Dr. Bvumbw served as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (2014–2022), Chairperson of the Deans Committee, and Coordinator of the ODeL Technical Committee at Mzuzu University. Dr. Bvumbwe has served as Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Finance and Appointments Committee for the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi, and previously worked as Programme Manager for USAID-funded community health initiatives through Management Sciences for Health/BASICS, which included digital health to improve clinical decision-making and healthcare access in remote areas. His work has supported maternal and child health, reproductive health, and health system governance in districts such as Balaka and Zomba. He has published extensively on topics including nursing education quality and clinical learning environments. Dr. Bvumbwe is a member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
