
Biography
Grace Kamanga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Tourism at Mzuzu University, where she has worked since 2016. She holds a Master of Tourism from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and a BSc in Hospitality Management from Mzuzu University. In addition to her teaching role, Grace has served on various university committees, including, inter alia, the Mzuzu University Council, Senate, and as the Head of Tourism Department. Recently, she worked as a Senior Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) at the University of Warwick, where she earned two teaching certifications: Preparing to Teach in Higher Education (PTHE) from the University of Warwick and the Associate Fellowship for Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) from AdvancedHE, United Kingdom.
Research and Publication Experience
Grace is an interdisciplinary researcher and published scholar, with her work in journals such as Development Southern Africa (Taylor and Francis), Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management (Wiley), Tourism Review International (Ingenta Connect), and Routledge, among others. She has presented her research at various international conferences, including in Toulouse, France. Grace’s consulting work includes projects for KONRAD ADENAUER STIFTUNG through the Institute for Policy Research and Social Empowerment (IPRSE), conducting tracer studies for Mzuzu University, and collaborating with the Department of Tourism to train MSMEs in Malawi’s tourism industry through the PICTS project.
