Dr. Chikasirimobi Goodhope Timothy is an Eye Healthcare Expert with demonstrated public health interest in the Department of Optometry since 1st April 2022. He has also served as the University Male Warden since September 2022. He holds a Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) (1999) from Abia State University in Abia State, Nigeria, and a Master of Science in Optometry and Vision Sciences (specialising in contact lenses and the anterior segment of the eye) from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kakamega, Kenya. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Optometry and Vision Sciences at the same university. He is a dedicated researcher in Optometry and Public Health, particularly focusing on current or emerging public health issues, with publications in various globally recognised peer-reviewed journals. The courses he teaches include Public Health and Community Optometry, Physiological Optics, Clinical Optometric Practice, Visual Perception and Neurophysiology, Contact Lenses, Ethics and Professionalism for Optometry, Geriatric Optometry, Optometry Clinical Case Analysis, Research Methodology and Project Design, and the Optometry Research Project. He also serves as the patron of the football, basketball, netball, volleyball, hockey, and chess teams of the university.
