Dr. Joyce Dainess Mlenga
Dr. Joyce Dainess Mlenga is a Lecturer in Theology and Religious Studies and the current Head of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Mzuzu University, since 1st October 2024. She holds a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from Mzuzu University, a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from Africa International University, Kenya, a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from African Bible College, Malawi, and a University Certificate of Education from the University of Malawi. Dr. Mlenga’s research is multidisciplinary, focusing on theology, African Christianity, religion and culture, women’s issues in religion, and Christian education. She has published in academic journals, books, and encyclopedias, and serves as Associate Editor (Africa) for the On Knowing Humanity Journal. She is an active conference presenter and a member of the Theological Society of Malawi (where she is Vice Chairperson), the African Association for the Study of Religion (AASR), and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion (SSSR). Dr. Mlenga has contributed to several projects and grants, including those funded by the Nagel Institute of Calvin University and USAID.
