Established in 2003, our department has grown into a hub for education and research in information sciences. Initially known as the Department of Library and Information Science, we evolved in 2016 to better reflect the dynamic nature of the field. Today, we remain committed to producing specialists who shape the future of information access and management in public and private sectors.

Grants

  • African Library Project for a project on provision of books to Viyele and Katawa CCAP Primary Schools in Mzuzu City, Malawi.
  • Open Research Funders Group (ORFG) grant of US$5, 000 for a project on Integrating open access principles in research activities at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mzuzu University to promote accountability, collaboration, and innovation
  •
