Department of Built Environment

Background Information

The Department of the Built Environment, formerly Land Management Department, was established in 2006. In the first 10 years the department focused on supporting the land reform programme of the Malawi Government to build capacity in planning, land surveying and estates management. In 2018, the department changed its name to reposition itself as part of the university-wide process of restructuring faculties and departments. The Built Environment Department is a member of African Association of Planning Schools (AAPS) https://www.africanplanningschools.org.za/
