The department has reasonable capacity in terms of staff capacity and in teaching/learning facilities and resources.

Staffing Complement

The Department of Geosciences has six established teaching posts and three support staff posts. Currently, the teaching and support posts are held as displayed.

The capacity of the department to deliver programs at different levels is improving gradually as more academic staff members acquire higher qualifications, doctoral degrees in particular. Recruitment of more tenured or adjunct staff in specialized fields, for instance in GIS, will enhance existing capacities further.
